TAXONOMIC ASSESSMENT OF CURCULIGO ORCHIOIDES USING matK AND rbcL DNA BARCODES

نویسندگان

چکیده

Curculigo orchioides is most commonly used as an imperative medicinal plant in Vietnam. The roots are mainly to treat sexual dysfunction, back pain, arthritis, nephritis, jaundice, and infertility. Given the high market demand herbal market, C. traders adulterate with other similar plants for illegitimate benefits. Maturase K (matK) ribulose 1,5-biphosphate carboxylase (rbcL) DNA barcode loci presently identify blends counterfeit herbs, well as, propagating conservation material. Nevertheless, identification accuracy highly dependent on NCBI Genbank or Barcode of Life Database (BOLD). In recent study, efficiency loci, matK rbcL classification populations, was investigated during 2020–2021. After examining 11 accessions collected from different locations Vietnam, obtained results revealed that using database more effective classifying orchioides. addition, locus also showed higher power than rbcL. findings could be helpful trading management, conservation, development

DNA Barcoding the Canadian Arctic Flora: Core Plastid Barcodes (rbcL + matK) for 490 Vascular Plant Species

Accurate identification of Arctic plant species is critical for understanding potential climate-induced changes in their diversity and distributions. To facilitate rapid identification we generated DNA barcodes for the core plastid barcode loci (rbcL and matK) for 490 vascular plant species, representing nearly half of the Canadian Arctic flora and 93% of the flora of the Canadian Arctic Archip...

Bamboo tea: reduction of taxonomic complexity and application of DNA diagnostics based on rbcL and matK sequence data

BACKGROUND Names used in ingredient lists of food products are trivial and in their nature rarely precise. The most recent scientific interpretation of the term bamboo (Bambusoideae, Poaceae) comprises over 1,600 distinct species. In the European Union only few of these exotic species are well known sources for food ingredients (i.e., bamboo sprouts) and are thus not considered novel foods, whi...

Evaluation of Antiasthmatic Activity of Curculigo orchioides Gaertn. Rhizomes

The ethanol extract of Curculigo orchioides was evaluated for antiasthmatic activity by using various in vitro and in vivo animal models. In vitro models like isolated goat tracheal chain preparation and isolated guinea pig ileum preparation were studied to know basic mechanism by which extract shows relaxant activity. The study showed that extract is effective against histamine-induced contrac...
